Extensometers

Extremely precise measurement of the specimen deformation during a test is one of the most important requirements for objective material testing high accuracy and resolution exceeding the requirements of ASTM E83 and ISO 9513.

To accommodate most testing requirements, the EZ Extensometer can be used on either round or flat samples. Each comes with two special features: a built-in overload protection and the automatic gage length setting which helps ensure a high degree of consistency between the users and the testing samples. Special gage lengths are also available upon request. Available in both room and high temperature versions.

Designed for easy clip-on attachment, these versatile high elongation Exensometers are available in gage lengths of 0.5, 1, or 2 inches. With measurement capabilities to 1000% sample elongation, these unique Extensometers also feature built-in over load protection.

Using a unique laser scanning approach developed by United Calibration Corporation, the United Laser Extensometer permits accurate non-contact extension measurement from the start of the test through sample failure without test interruption. Designed to provide accurate extension measurements from less than 1% to greater than 1000% strain, this versatile optical scanning device performs well for sample testing with an environmental chamber at elevated or even very low test temperatures, as well as at normal temperatures and environments.

Designed for measuring R-values in sheet metal testing. This Extensometer averages the lateral strain at two locations.

This Extensometers is designed for testing a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, composites and ceramics  and will work in tension and compression. The dual flexure design makes them very rugged and insensitive to vibrations, which permits higher frequency operation.

Series 3575 Extensometers are designed for general purpose transverse or diametral strain measurement on axially loaded specimens.

This Extensometer is ideally suited for testing anisotropic materials such as advanced composites as well as for general purpose tests like determining Poisson ratio. Model 3560BIA uses a design unique, where the knife edges remain parallel during the displacement. This approach greatly reduces crosstalk between axes and allows use on round or flat specimens with equal ease. These Extensometers are very easy to mount, integral springs hold the unit on the test sample. The parallell multiple flexure design makes these units very durable.
